Our Story

Kireka Community SACCO was founded in 2015 by ten visionary women who formed an informal savings group to improve their economic well-being through collective saving and mutual support. Each member contributed UGX 100,000 monthly, with the pooled funds allocated to one member on a rotational basis. As the initiative proved successful, more women joined, inspiring the founders to establish a formal Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (SACCO) to extend financial services to the wider community. The SACCO was officially established as Kireka Community SACCO, beginning with 30 members and an initial capital base of UGX 3 million. Through strong leadership, sound financial management, and the commitment of its members, the SACCO has grown significantly and now serves over 5000 members with a financial base exceeding UGX 3 billion. Today, it continues to promote financial inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable community development.
